In Memory Of
Robert J. "Bob" Wilkie
1960 - 2017

Robert J Wilkie, known to friends as "Bob," passed away on June 21, 2017, as a result of a rare cancer. Bob was 57 years old. A native of Toledo, Bob attended Northview High School, and the University of Toledo.

In 1980, Bob began his career with Wilkie and Associates, where he worked for his father, Jim Wilkie, for many years. In 1995, Bob became the president of the company, which he ran with the highest level of care, until his very last day.

Bob was an extremely talented man, and took up many hobbies and passions in life. From a young age, he taught himself guitar by listening to Led Zeppelin records. He was also a talented and self-taught artist, and left behind more than 15 breathtaking realism graphite portraits for his loved ones to cherish.

Another passion of his was mountain biking with his son, Tyler, and playing hockey at least once a week with the Sylvania Area Senior Hockey League. Bob was also a very skilled golfer, and played most Sundays with his father, Jim. He also learned everything he could about aviation and airplanes, and was lucky enough to fly a couple of planes in his lifetime, which made him very happy.

Bob had so many talents and gifts to share, but the most important thing to him was his family. Bob enjoyed being involved in his children’s lives. His children are left with fond memories of him coaching each of their Pee-Wee softball leagues, serving as a member on Trinity Lutheran’s school board, volunteering for Cub Scout activities, taking them to Storer Family Camp with friends, and even building them a beautiful wooden playhouse in the backyard. Bob and Kelly had an amazing marriage where they truly supported each other through both of their cancers and deeply understood and utterly loved each other beyond words.

He is survived by the love of his life, and wife of 27 years, Kelly; son Tyler; daughters, Nicole Clift, Alle, Libby; father, Jim Wilkie; grandchildren, Kayla Clift, and Benjamin Clift; sisters, Karen Bowmen, and Diane Wilkie Smith. Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Lenora Wilkie.

Please celebrate with us the fabulous life of a wonderful person, who is loved by so many. The family will be receiving guests for visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 and again Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900).
