Martha L. Callis, age 72, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the emergency room at Mercy St. Anne Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1945 to John G. and Eleanor M. (McLeod) Hudnall in Toledo. Martha was a graduate of Woodward High School. She married the love of her life on February 13, 1965, Clarence Wayne Callis in Toledo. She worked in the cafeteria for Blue Cross Blue Shield and later retired from Washington Local Schools. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, ceramics, socializing with friends, attending church and spending time with her family and grandkids. Martha and her husband, Wayne, were lifelong members of River View Yacht Club. Her family will remember her for the love that she provided them and the delicious meals that she prepared over the years, especially her dumplings and sopapilla bread.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Wayne Callis; sons, Michael (Robin) and Rich Callis (fiancé, Becca Rutledge); grandchildren, Rod Jr. (Rosie), Elizabeth and Henry; step-grandchildren, Monica, Maureen and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Mathew, Jacob and Kaiden; sisters, Dorothy Rokicki, Donna Palinski and Anna Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rodney M. Callis and sister, Kay Meyers.

The family will receive guests on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 4-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Andy Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans of America in Martha's memory.
