In Memory Of
John M. Emenegger
1949 - 2017

John M. Emenegger, age 67, born May 11, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio to Franklin and Marjorie (Foster) Emenegger died April 13, 2017. He was diagnosed in 2010 with Retroperitoneal Fibrosis and renal failure and he put up a courageous battle. John and his wife Kay were married July 31, 1976 at Pilgrim Church in Toledo.

John graduated from Start in 1967 and attended Owens Community College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 – 1972. John was an electrician at GM Powertrain for 42 years retiring in 2011.

As an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. he enjoyed watching him in the lead while his sons were for Gordon. John also enjoyed the Ohio State vs. U of M football games, especially when Michigan lost and he could give the Michigan fans in the family a hard time. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kay; sister, Sandra (Lloyd) Russow; sons, John (Judy) Emenegger, II, Michael Vollmer and daughter, Tina Vollmer; grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Anthony and Caleb Emenegger; Chelsea and Charley Vollmer; Gary Michael Wells, II, Quinn and Kyle Cook and Ian and Hunter Cornelison; and great-grandson, Bentley Emenegger.

No funeral or memorial is planned. His immediate family will celebrate his life together privately at John’s request. He will forever remain in our hearts.

A special thank you to Dr. Donald Hickey, Dr. Michael Rashid and all of the nurse’s staff and Chaplain at Ebeid Hospice for taking such compassionate care of our loved one.
