1929 - 2017

Laura Sadie Creekmore, age 87, of Toledo, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 4, 1929 to James and Lora (Mills) Pounds in Toledo. Sadie met the love of her life, John M. Creekmore, Sr. in 1949 and they married on July 29, 1950. Sadie loved nothing more than the time spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandma and great-grandma and will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John M. Creekmore, Jr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Prond; and 9 siblings. Sadie is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John Creekmore, Sr.; daughters, Jane (Jan) Lipps and Patricia Rachels; grandchildren, Ronald Andrew (Fayre), John, Michele (Ricky), Amy, John III, Jenny (Aaron) and Heather; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marsha Alemenos, Virginia Gedert and Mary Jane (Frank) Cox; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 3 – 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with Funeral Services beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Ronald McDonald House.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Aunt Gin and Cheryl for all of their love, care and support given to Sadie and her family through this difficult time and also to Aunt Mary and family for all of their prayer and support.
