John G. Snyder, age 77, passed away February 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. John was born February 28, 1939 in Toledo to Orville and Ruth (Kibbe) Snyder in Toledo, Ohio.

He was employed with the Strauss Bakery for many years doing delivery work. John was a lifetime member of the Northwood VFW Post 2984. He loved racing, deer hunting, fishing, golfing and camping at Sunny’s Campground.

In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley and 1 sister. He is survived by his Daughter, Helen Ward, Sons, Johnny Snyder, Rickey (Tina) Snyder, George (Michelle) Snyder, 2 brothers, 7 sisters, Grandchildren, Crystal, Haley, Lyssa and Great-Grandson, Hunter.

The family will receive guests Monday, February 27, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. 419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 am at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Northwood VFW Post 2984 in John's memory.
