Gerald "Ed" Beam, Jr.
1942 - 2017

Gerald “Ed” Beam, Jr., age 74, of Toledo, passed away January 19, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. He was born August 14, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio to Gerald and Aldine (Barre) Beam. Ed was very active with the Boy Scouts and received the Silver Beaver Award. Prior to working at Meijer as a greeter for the last 15 years, Ed worked at Riverside Hospital and then at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Ed was an avid sports fan of all Chicago sports teams and the University of Northwestern football.

Ed is survived by his wife, Janet Lois Beam; sons, Christopher S. Beam and Michael E. Beam; grandsons, Zachary Beam and Andrew Beam; sister, Geraldine (Roger) Adams, sisters-in-law, Kayleen Beam and Genise (Larry) Mason and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Beam and sister, Dixie Barr.

The family will receive guests, Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Memorial Services will begin Thursday at 1:00 pm. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Toledo Humane Society or the charity of the donor’s choice in Ed's memory.
