Steven A. Whitely, age 61, passed away at home on January 14, 2017. Born June 2, 1955 in Toledo, OH he was the son of the late Barbara and James Whitely Sr.

Steven owned and operated Whitely's Radiator Service for 17 years, starting his career at Toledo Mack working on diesel engines. He also worked for various dealerships throughout his career. Steven was very skilled with any mechanical work, creatively solving problems, and taking on any challenge he came across until he reached a successful solution. His attitude was to repair equipment of all kinds, rather than replace it. He found satisfaction & enjoyment in restoring classic European cars. Together, Steven and Lori enjoyed their home, going to concerts, theater and driving their convertible. He also adored his feline companion, Scooter.

Steven is survived by his loving wife and friend of the last 14 years, Lori Straub-Whitely; son, Matthew (Emily) Whitely; daughters, Angela, Stephanie and Georgianna; siblings, Monte, David, Charles (Paula), Robert and Virginia Whitely; mother-in-law, Annabelle Straub and family, and many nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his parents; wife & mother of his children, Judith Whitely, brother, James Jr. and sister, Patricia Whitely-Goodlow.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 10-Noon at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at Noon.
