Irene Ziolkowski, age 99, formerly of Eleanor Avenue in Toledo, passed away on December 4, 2016 with her family by her bedside at Swanton Health Care. She was welcomed in Heaven by her loving husband of 46 years, Stanley Ziolkowski. She was born on August 17, 1917 to John and Josephine (Przeczkowska) Baranski. She was the last surviving member of a family of twelve children. For 22 years she worked in the cafeteria at Start High School and was a member of St. Richards in Swanton and St. Catherine of Siena. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, she was an avid and talented seamstress. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother as well as to her church.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gene Ziolkowski, Kathleen (Donald) Queen and Mary (Roger) Donohue; grandchildren, Amy (Ryan) Gillmor, Aaron (Cara) Donohue and Adrienne (Jeremy) Tew; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Justin, Addie, Jet and Joel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 4 sisters; 4 brothers and 3 infant siblings.

The family will receive guests on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Friday. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4555 N. Haven Ave., Toledo, OH 43612, with visitation in the vestibule of the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Fr. Francis Speier officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Sienna, RE: Repair the School Roof Campaign or to St. Richard's Church in Swanton.
