Michael J. "Mike" Nowak, age 93, of Toledo, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to Mike and Leona (Closson) Nowak on February 1, 1923 and attended Woodward High School. He was employed at Acklin Stamping for 43 years and was a member of UAW Local 12. Mike loved the outdoors, Ohio State Football, golfing, caring for his fruit trees and his family. His wisdom, love and presence will be missed by his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his children, Roberta (Larry) Brown, Rebecca Erd, Colleen "Cookie" Zhurakovski, James (Galina) Nowak, William Nowak, Daniel (Clara) Nowak; special love, Sadie Foster; 35 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; cousin, Junior Adoline and his loving dog, Josie.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy; daughters, Patricia and Cheryl; sons, Michael and Robert; grandsons, Christopher Erd and Dennis Smith; sisters, Frances, Martha and Inez; brother, Bert and son in law, Raymond Erd.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery.
