In Memory Of
Kenny W. Ostrander
1929 - 2016

Kenny Ostrander, loving husband to Judy (Scharf) for 59 years, left this life on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the age of 87.

Kenny was born March 20, 1929 to Kenny and Dorothy (Fuller) Ostrander. He was a 1947 graduate of DeVilbiss High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball. Kenny proudly served our country from 1955-57 and returned to be a dedicated Sheet Metal Mechanic for the A.H. Lumm Company where he was outstanding in his field.

Kenny had a wonderful sense of humor and a very competitive personality. He played minor league baseball and was very proud of the fact that Jim Leyland was his batboy during some of his ball days. He remained an avid Tigers fan until the very end. He was a very talented bowler, holding an average in the 190’s for many years, bowling in a league until he was 82 years old. He loved playing cards and taught his children at young ages to play Blackjack for pennies.

Kenny attended St. Patrick of Heatherdowns church for 25 years, enjoying breakfast with friends following every service. He was a very devoted family man, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. We look forward to the day we will meet again, when it is our turn to dance with the angels in heaven. May you be dancing, clapping your hands, laughing, and playing ball until your hearts content.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Judy; Children: Bob Ostrander, Sandy (Jim) Stange, Chris (Debbie) Ostrander, Diana (Dave) Battin, Kati (Marc) Corbett, Maria (Bryan) Stachowiak. Grandchildren: Chris (Tae) Stange, Lesley Stange, Dawn Ostrander, David Ostrander, Brittinee (Brad) Huntley, Linsee (Shawn) Nungester, Kyle (Brandi) Ostrander, Danielle (David) Weilnau, Kali Battin, Stephanie (Justin) Butler, Kyla (Mark) Gorey, Shayna Corbett, Cameron Schramm. Great Grandchildren: Joseph, Jamie, Justin, Caleb, Ella, Addison, Jocelyn, Clay, Brent, Kensington, Colton, Charlotte and one on the way.

Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns September 24, 2016 at 10 am, followed by a luncheon in the Holy Family Center.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions in Kenny’s name to Hospice of NWO, or St Patrick of Heatherdowns.
