William J. “Bill” Ireland, age 74, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday September, 13, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest, Perrysburg surround by his loving family. He was born to Gladys Ireland on August 18, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at GM Powertrain for 31.2 years before retiring. Bill was an avid fisherman and loved boating. He had a huge heart and never met a stranger. Bill loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Deb Ireland; children, John (Heather) Ireland, Dawn Rehm, Scott Ireland, Brett Ireland, Joe (Angie) Ireland, Emily (Brian) Brown and Doug (Denise) Sweeney; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way; best friends, George (Mary) Schroeder and Larry (Nancy) Feeback and many other dear friends. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his dad, Grandpa McCue; his daughter, Crystal Virden; brothers, Andrew, Johnny and Jimmy McCue; sisters, Ann McVicker, Shirley Gaynor, and Mary McCue.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Gerry Soviar.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
