1923 - 2016

Howard F. Alliman, age 93, of Pemberville, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Otterbein of Portage Valley surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 14, 1923 to Henry and Fern (Huffman) Alliman in Toledo. Howard met the love of his life Allie Dora Shay and they married on July 1, 1948. He worked at Jeep/Chrysler for 33 years retiring in 1981. Howard was a longtime member of the Good Shepard of the Deaf Lutheran Church and the Toledo Deaf Club. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing softball, cards and traveling with his wife. Howard loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially all his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Carole Sue. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dora Alliman; beloved son, Thomas, Sr. (Diane) Alliman; grandchildren, Thomas Jr.(Lisa), Lisa, James (Denise), Jason (Betzi) and Stacie (Steve); and great-grandchildren, Brandan, Lacey, Bernice, Vata, Lydia, Tyler and Leopold; and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Sherrill Petzold. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Good Shepard of the Deaf Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
