Clifford "Art" Funka, Jr.
1937 - 2016
Art was a 1955 graduate of Libbey High School. He married Deanna M. Jennings on March 9, 1957. He loved to travel and fish, Bright Lake, ON was his favorite place to do both. Art was a long-time parishioner of Maumee United Methodist Church as well as the choir. He retired in 2009 after 54 years owning two dry-cleaning businesses, including Strater Cleaners and U-Need-A-Cleaners, he retired in 2009. Art enjoyed his time spent with grandkids and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 59 years, Deanna; children, Shelly (Danny) Thomas and Cliff “Butch” (Laura) Funka III; grandchildren, Robby and Chris Thomas, Alexa and Corbin Funka; sister-in-law, Maria Funka and many dear friends, especially the “Church Group.”
In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas M. Funka Sr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett Street, Maumee, OH 43537. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at the Hickman Center at Flower Hospital.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
