Evelyn Thompson, age 85, of Toledo, Ohio passed away May 27, 2016 at Hickory Ridge Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 5, 1931 in Waverly, Ohio to Ernie and Renia (Gentry) Howard. Evelyn was employed with Libbey Glass for more than 35 years retiring in 1985. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and going to the casino. Her greatest joy in life was being with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great granddaughter.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Sherry (John) Burks, Debbie (Ray) Tobin, Chuck (Patti) Thompson and Pam (Chuck) Neumeyer; grandchildren, Vickie (Jeff) Layman, Alison (Ed Mothershed) Thompson, Joey (Malorie) Thompson and Connor Neumeyer; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Layman, Brandon Layman and Makkenzie Layman; great-great-granddaughter, Bailey Layman; brother, Ernie (Barbara) Howard and sister, Joanne (Bob) Sandefur. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Thompson, grandson, Joshua Neumeyer and many siblings.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10:00 am. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
