Phyllis E. Wians, age 86, of Toledo, Ohio passed away May 26, 2016 at her home. She was born October 24, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Fredrick and Johanna (Nicka) Papke. Phyllis was employed with Travelers Insurance for more than 27 years. She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and the longtime member Toledo Maennerchor and Damenchor and the German American Federation. Phyllis sang in many choirs and enjoyed working in her garden. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Phyllis is survived by her children, William R. (Karen) Wians and Sandra G. Jackson-Wians; grandchildren, Andrew Wians, Alexander Jackson and David Wians; brother- in-law, George Eckenstaler and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, William Wians, III and sister, Corinne (Papke) Eckenstaler.

The family will receive guests, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m .in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery
