Joyce P. Slack, age 79, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 in Bradenton, Florida. She was born on March 1, 1937 to the late Jess and Ethel Crowder in Spruce Pines, North Carolina.

Joyce lived most of her life in Toledo. She was a DeVilbiss High School graduate. Joyce was a lifetime member of RVYC and a past member of BVYC. She served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary and Satin Gavel at RVYC. Joyce loved her family and especially adored her grandchildren. Her family will miss her loving words of encouragement and beautiful smile. It is a comfort to know she is reunited with the love of her life, Ed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Edwin (Melissa) Slack, Gregory (Diane) Slack, Deborah Slack and Tami (Mark) Riegger; grandchildren, Caitlin (Bryan) Richard, Zachary, Benjamin and Thomas Riegger, Gregory II, Amy and Sara Slack and Blake (Holly) McEachern; sisters, Joanne (Larry) Brown and Elaine Holbrook; great-grandchildren, Louella and Jude Richard; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her beloved husband of 43 years, Edwin Sr. and siblings, Bill Crowder and Kathy Melchi.

The family will receive guests from 3-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Rosary Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. The RVYC Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5562 Dorr Street. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
