Joseph Arthur "Joey" Zalewski, age 38, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. He was born on December 11, 1977 to Joseph Patrick and Judith (Nichols) Zalewski in Toledo. Joey was a graduate of Roy C. Start High School where he was an All City Golfer which earned him a scholarship to Heidelberg College in Tiffin. One of Joe's passions was golfing with his father. Joey and his father were teammates in fantasy football and Joey was the brains behind the operation. Joey's pride and joy were his nephews. He enjoyed watching Alex and Kyle grow into young gentlemen. Joey shared a special bond with Mason and their favorite thing to do was play XBox WWE. Everybody will remember Joey as a gentleman golfer, a true gentleman in life and a very caring and compassionate soul.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving parents; siblings, Laura (James) Bueter and Alexander Zalewski; nephews, Kyle, Mason and Cameron; niece, Nicole; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents and sister, Sandra Zalewski.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, OH 43613 with his Memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Fr. James Auth officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donors choice in Joey's name.
